More in Store for Julep Beauty

  • Julep Beauty, a recent beauty startup brand secured $30 million in additional funding. I’m a personal fan of this nail polish based subscription service, and was excited to hear they have more planned! This month, the brand will release the Plié Wand, a new nail polishing tool that promises to revolutionize your manicure experience – which I will be receiving in my May Julep subscription. “Julep combines tech savvy, a next-generation distribution model and beauty industry know-how in one fast-growing package. It’s the only beauty brand to truly leverage crowdsourcing and social feedback to create new makeup and skincare products.” stated Mike Kwatinetz, general partner of Azure Capital Partners, one of Julep’s investors. Clarisonic Launches “Smart” Brush

  • Clarisonic announced a new brush called the “Smart Profile” is set to start rolling out in May, with a full launch in 2015. So what’s so great about this new, better version from the brand? The brush just got so much smarter! Each Clarisonic in the existing line has a small microchip in the handle that powers the tool. The Smart Profile’s microchip will sit in the actual brush head, so it can learn more about your face. Essentially, the more you clean your face, the more it will change to accommodate your individual facial needs. The new brush also comes with a variety of other upgrades. The Smart Profiles have been quoted to retail for $265 each (WWD).
