Last week I attended the Charlotte Tilbury Goddess Skin Clay Mask launch party at the Grove’s Nordstrom in Los Angeles! It was a great night…. we saw a live demo from Charlotte on how to create the “Sophisticate” look she created on Sienna Miller for the Oscars. We enjoyed drinks & sweet treats and I even got to meet Charlotte!
After the excitement, I got a mini makeover from one of Charlotte’s makeup artists using the Dolce Vita palette, which Charlotte herself recommended for me! There were many beauty gurus there, and I had a wonderful time in *makeup heaven*!
After the party, I feel even more in love with Charlotte Tilbury and her makeup line. It’s cruelty free and exudes luxury. I feel good about using the products on my skin.
So… how do I feel about this luxury eyeshadow palette in Dolce Vita?? It comes at a high price tag ($52) for a quad of eyeshadows in a mirror compact, and it’s one of the top 5 best sellers at Charlotte Tilbury. After testing out the palette’s looks, I do really love it!
Here’s what’s great about it…
- The shadows are great (see swatches above) – very creamy and pigmented
- The palette comes in such an easy to use format (start at the top left and going clockwise) with a prime, enhance, smoke, and pop shade
- They are incredibly easy to blend, making for the best professional look
- The shades are extremely unique – especially the glitter “pop” shadow
- The shimmery shadows are gorgeous – perfect for anyone who doesn’t normally do glitter
Here’s what could be better…
- The palette is very expensive for just four shadows
- The shadows could have more lasting power, despite being advertised as being able to use without a primer
Overall… I’d recommend the palette if your looking for some luxurious shadows for all in one look. The best part is how simple the four step system is to create such a professional, glamorous look.This is great for the simple beauty lover or anyone with a busy lifestyle including traveling.
