I recently received this Tarte Amazonian Clay Matte Eyeshadow palette as a present, and was thrilled to have another all matte palette in my collection! I’ve been gravitating more and more towards matte shadows over shimmery shades. Don’t get me wrong though, I’m all about my sparkle at certain times, but there’s something so polished looking about the perfectly blended matte shadow.

I love Tarte as a cosmetic brand. The products work well with my sensitive skin, especially their Amazonian Clay line. It comes without all the “bad stuff” you don’t need like mineral oil and parabens. Tarte products are cruelty free, vegan friendly, and natural beauty products.

More importantly… How do the shadows measure up? One word: Impeccable! These 12 exclusive shadows could not pair more beautifully. I like to use each row of four when creating my eyeshadow look. I start with the first shade on the far left and work my way towards the right. Building and blending the colors as I apply. These shadows are universally flattering and highly pigmented with NO fallout! They are probably the best blending matte shadows in my collection (that’s saying a lot – going up against my all-time favorite Lorac Pro Palette)! This product is easy to work with and makes for some stunning looks.

The only cons in my opinion are the price and packaging. This palette is a bit pricey at $44, but for 12 shadows that’s much more reasonable than other high-end beauty brands. Also, the packaging is a bit “cheap” in my opinion. Sometimes the palette is hard to open and seems flimsy.
