With every new year brings award season! We celebrate all the great entertainment in our lives so why not show praise to our favorite beauty products. I’ve rounded up the 5 beauty products I could not live without in 2016. They will definitely be finding their way into my life in 2017!

IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC+ Cream

The Best Skin Perfecter

Trust me when I say, you need IT Cosmetics CC cream in your life! I’ve met a lot of people who are skeptical about CC creams, but this one is like no other. It feels hydrating and lightweight on the skin yet its coverage is impressive. It does the work of a foundation without the heavy feeling. Did I mention it has SPF 50? You should be sold if you’re not already.

There are only 5 shade selections, which could be its only downfall. However, the lightest shade “Fair” is perfect for my skintone. As the name suggests it truly is “your skin but better” in a tube. This is my go to everyday foundation/BB/CC cream to wear to work, out shopping or dinner with friends. Pair it with concealer and setting powder for a flawless finish. It retails for $38 and my tube lasted me just around a year. Tip:  Try buying from QVC for special deals! I purchased mine from the online retailer and it came with a free blending brush.

ColourPop Eye Shadows

The Best Way to Have Fun

ColourPop Eye Shadows are simply magic in a jar. Seriously. I can’t get enough of these little guys. The shadows are extremely reasonable at $5 a pop and come in so, so many shades. The color payoff on these shadows is impeccable. Their Super Shock Metallic shadows are simply stunning in person and on camera. If you’ve never experimented with this relatively new brand, I suggest giving the shadows a whirl. You won’t be disappointed.

Pick up some neutral metallic shades along with a few pops of color. They work best when you apply with your fingers, but if you’re going for a “lighter” touch opt for a brush. I like to pair the metallic shadows with some matte neutrals. Pop on a little mascara and you’ll look straight off the red carpet!

Some of my favorite individual eye shadows include:  So Quiche, Summer Lovin, La La, I Heart This, Lovely, Bae, Liberty, 3, and Dare.

Kat Von D Tattoo Liner

The Best Way to Fake Being a Professional MUA

I own 3 of these, so that should give you an idea how obsessed am I. The Kat Von D Tattoo Liner is the only way I can create that perfect winged liner look. It also works great as an everyday eyeliner (without the wing, if that’s not your thing).

Trooper is the perfect blackest of black shade. The liner retails for $20 and will last anywhere from 6-12 months depending on your usage. It comes with a precise felt tip that makes application a breeze. No more tugging on your eyelids! It’s waterproof as well so your liner’s going no where. Pick one up, perfect your wing and thank me later.

Morphe Makeup Brushes

The Best Tools. Period.

I discovered Morphe Makeup Brushes at the beginning of 2016 and haven’t looked back since. These are my new favorite makeup brushes! They comes in tons, I mean TONS of varieties and styles. They have a makeup brush for literally any technique you could imagine. Foundation, Powder, Blush, Bronzer, Highlight, Lip, Brow, Crease, Lid, Liner… you name it!

They are extremely affordable and surprisingly high quality. They have several different lines of brushes that each specialize in something different. The brushes range from about $2-$20 depending on the style with most falling in the $5-$10 range. You can find Morphe brushes online and at their flagship store in Los Angeles. It’s a beautiful space and should be on every beauty junkie’s bucket list.

Some of my favorite individual brushes include:  M439 (Foundation), M527 (Bronzer), M523 (Contour), M501 (Highlight), E45 (Concealer), M441 (Large Crease) M433 (Blending), M139 (Crease), M169 (Detailed Eye), M158 (Brows), and M217 (Eyeliner).

Kylie Cosmetics Gloss

The Best Surprise

Before you roll your eyes, hear me out! I was skeptical about Kylie Cosmetics, but the lip glosses did not disappoint. Kylie launched her Gloss line shortly after her original lip kits. My personal favorite is one of the original shades, So Cute. It’s best for fair skin tones.

I have to say I love this gloss! It provides perfect full coverage color in the most flattering shades for every skin tone. They wear great on their own or over lipliner. They feel very hydrating on the lips and wear well for several hours, perfect for eating and drinking. Reapplying is a cinch, no mirror required. These glosses are “relatively” affordable at $15 a tube and can be purchased online.

  1. I seriously love this!!!!! I was shocked at how impressed I was with Kylie’s lip kits. I love how I don’t have to re apply. It literally stains my lips… on the flip side it takes me an entire make-up wipe to get it off my lips!

    1. I’m glad it’s not just me who loves Kylie Cosmetics. I find coconut oil is the best to remove stubborn makeup, including liquid lipsticks. I keep a tub in my bathroom, and massage a little bit into my lips and rinse. You may need to repeat! xo

  2. I just ordered the IT cosmetics CC cream a few days ago and I’m so excited to try it! One of my favorite foundations is No7 Stay Perfect foundation. It’s available at target and super awesome 🙂 if you’d like it would be awesome if you checked out my blog as well! I have some of my favorite products and clothing pieces featured if you want some new inspiration! 🙂

  3. I was planning to research new makeup brushes this weekend…not anymore! Heading straight to Morphe this weekend to stock up. Thanks for recommendations.
