A few weekends ago I went to Melrose Trading Post for the first time. I’d say it’s a definite must for any thrifty shopper in LA!
The one closest to me is in West Hollywood at Melrose & Fairfax, but there is another one in Woodland Hills. Fairfax is open on Sundays from 9am-3pm and Woodland Hills is open Saturdays 9am-5pm. The entrance fee is only $3 and all proceeds benefit local schools.
Overall, this outdoor market has a wide variety of goods. There were new, vintage, and homemade items including a mix of decor, jewelry, clothes, furniture, food, and bath/beauty. Most places seemed to only take cash so I’d bring plenty. There is a small food court and live music as well.
To me this flea market wasn’t as “overwhelming” as others can be, which made the experience even better. I didn’t feel as if I had to search for all the good stuff.
During my trip I picked up some high-waisted distressed Levi jean shorts ($25), a handmade DTLA wooden artwork piece ($10), and some handmade vegan cucumber soap enriched with vitamins and oils ($5).
