If you’re a lipstick junkie like me – you’ve see the Too Faced Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipsticks everywhere around the beauty community! You know at $21 a pop the Too Faced version is not cheap. I don’t own the original Too Faced varieties of the formula, but have sampled it in stores and read plenty of reviews on the product.
I wasn’t even looking for a dupe, when my eyes spotted this gem at a local boutique – LA Girl Glazed Lip Paint. I did a bit of research on the brand and product, and several other well-known bloggers had rave reviews quoting its similarities to Too Faced Melted. It’s also a bit similar to the OCC Lip Tars, which I talked about in another one of my Lipstick Diaries. At only $4 each, it was definitely worth trying.
This liquid lipstick is a perfect mix of lipstick and lip gloss, my personal favorite type of formula. It’s very creamy and non-drying on the lips. I will say the stay power could be longer, but overall has an average lasting length. I picked up the shade “Elude” which is actually very similar to Too Faced’s “Melted Peony”. The “Elude” shade is the perfect pinky nude color, especially for fair skin tones. Although a bit difficult to tell, the shade of this color reminds me of my all-time favorite Mac lipstick, “Hue”. I’ve never found a dupe for this shade!
The Glazed formula has a minty scent. As you can see from the pictures below, the applicator tip is plastic and not sponge tip like the Melted version. The colors are very opaque on the lips, and come in a variety of shades to check out.
Overall, I’m loving this product! I think it’s a unique mix of the Too Faced Melted Lipsticks and OCC Lip Tars. They are a bit more runny than the Melted varieties closer to OCC, and I’d recommend applying with a lip brush for the cleanest look. I picked mine up at a boutique in my local mall, but these are available at a variety of online retailers.
This is my last installment of my first beauty series, the Lipstick Diaries. I hope all my readers enjoyed this beauty series. What do you want to see next?!
I’m so glad you gave a swatch of this lip glaze. I’ve been hesitant to purchase, because of the packaging. Awesome series by the way!
