The holidays are the best time to bring out all your glitz and glamour, and your nails are no exception. The perfect nail polish color can bring together any outfit during holiday party season.

The perfect colors tend to be glittery, bold, or classic. I’ve outlined a three trends to follow as you prepare for the holiday season whether it be Christmas time, Hanukkah, or New Year’s Eve.

  1. A Classic Red – If you were to invest in one nail shade, it would have to be a red. Especially around the holidays the red color is very festive. It’s perfect if you want to get in the holiday spirit, but remain classy. My favorite red variety is this one from Julep with bits of glitter in the polish. Featured: Julep in Scarlett.
  2. Black & White – Black and white are perfect for the wintertime as they mimic the weather is most places – snowy blankets amidst a dark landscape. I would go with something other than opaque black, whether it be a more glittery variety like mine below or a darker smoky grayish/black color. Whites can be classic, minimalist, yet trendy – true whites are perfect for the holidays along with more sheer glittery varieties. Featured: Sephora by OPI in Blasted and Ulta in Little Black Dress.
  3. Metallics & Glitter – There’s no better time for glitter in my opinion than the holidays! Golds, Bronzes, and Silver colors are perfect to add a bit of cheer to your winter wardrobe. I don’t have any chunky glitters featured below, but those are perfect to wear on their own or on top of a coordinating base color.  Featured: Julep in Rebel and OPI in Rising Star.

Happy Holidays!
